We flew into Madrid, went by coach to Burgos for overnight stay, then on to the battlefield of Vittoria where Wellington crushed the French army that was evacuating Western Spain. From there we went into the area shown in the map, San Sebastian, Pamplona, Biarritz and finishing in Toulouse.

A lovely, green part of France and Spain to visit, as well as being choc full of history, culture and good food. Spent a memorable week down there nearly 30 years ago with views up to La Rhune one way and the sea at St Jean de Luz the other. Only downside was my companions weren't up for traipsing round military history sites. Still managed Bayonne, and San Sebastian though, and was obviously slap bang in the area of the Bidassoa battle. Oh and had a stop off at Blaye Citadel on the way home.
